Can anyone help please. The pipe from the basin to the waste tank has disconnected at the basin end. The pipe appears to have dropped and now wont reach but there is no give in the pipe at all. This is the second time the first time hubby managed to fix it but he siliconed it on with an extender but now we think it needs a more permanent solution. It is an Autocruise Starfire 2005 model.

Undecided Hmmm, If your basin is in the corner ,as was in my "Autocruise",,i did wonder how (if needed) to accsess the trap & pipe. The only possible solution i contenplated ,was to score through the plastic(fibreglass) at low level ,behind the cupboard door with a Stanley knife to creat an access panel. This could then give you room to fix the pipe back onto thev sink waste with a 'Jubilee' clip & mastic to seal. The cut out section could then be reatached using strong adhesive tape, for use IF needed to open again.Hope this helps .Pete .Cool.

With it being a Swift they probably used the shortest piece of flexible pipe they could and now it's shrinking back to it's natural size. Get a piece of the same pipe and put an insert in it to hold the two pieces together. Then jubilee clips or as above and cut a panel out and find out why the pipe is shrinking.

...At 2005 it would not be a swift,

Thanks for your thoughts but it is not a Swift (thank goodness) and that is one of the problems as they are no help to us pre Swift Autocruisers.

Thankfully I have a DIY hubby and he has after a lot of fiddling managed to hopefully find a solution. He has used a hose tail from an old UV light with a rubber connector used as an insert to secure it onto the basin. The hose tail has been secured onto the original pipe with a jubilee clip. The biggest problem is this is the second time the pipe has shrunk but in 11 years I suppose we shouldn't complain. Fortunately when the hose does come adrift it does discharge directly into the shower tray so the only problem is wet feet. Laughing
