i've just bought a new Fiat Ducato (Autotrail). I couldn't at first get my mobile phone (Samsung Galaxy S3) to pair with Fiat's (useless?) Uconnect system.
After a thousand hours of trying & watching You Tube videos on the subject etc etc I did manage to get it to pair, but each time I come to the van now it has "forgotten" me and I have to go through the whole process again.
Even when I manage it, the functionality seems limited, I cannot import my contacts list and can only make calls by manually entering each number to the radio console, more dangerous if on the move than using my phone, which obviously I don't do.
As I havent got any mates anyway I've given up and stop in a layby if I need to use the phone.....

Thanks both of you. I should have said its a peugeot boxer but my husband's now lost the connecting cable. When he gets a new one tomorrow he'll have another go and try pressing the media button! Not saying it'll work but i'll come back and say one way or the other.

Thanks RJLJ, but dont come back to us while you
are driving giggle, giggle !!
I've taken to keeping the 'phone in my jeans pocket
that way I cannot possibly use it without stopping &
going for a walk !!
The music is one CD ledged in the slot & R2 for any
traffic flashes in my area.

Posted on 27/01/2017 21:40 by EmilysDadIs it possible to listen to music via Bluetooth in your vehicle? .... I ask because though I can make & receive calls in my 2007 Mercedes, the bluetooth gizmo doesn't allow music streaming. That's done via a jack plug socket in the glove box.

On my 2007 XTrail all I could do was pair the phone. On my current later model it also lets me import contacts, and playlists. So on this one I can listen to music. If yours allows it, when you press the aux button you should see the option of connect via blue tooth. I get that as well as by USB.

I've got to be honest, I found the Uconnect system works really well.
I'm using an iphone 6s and connect via the USB socked near the cup holders.
I can access all my contacts through the menu system, no problem
I can access music from my phone and also music I've downloaded though spotify onto my phone.
Never had any issues with the bluetooth connectivity either. As soon as I switch on bluetooth on the phone, by the time I get through the menu system to check, it's all connected.
