Confused by Weights

Following on from my thread a few weeks ago about making the swithc to a MH.

Can someone talk to me about the weights, law and licences.

I've got a C1 Licence, so I assume I can drive a MH over 3.5 tons but under 7.5?  Most of the layouts we like are around 4.2-4.5 tons

I suggest you start by reading the Driving Licence sticky in Caravan and MH Chat, Catherine. Follow that up with a visit to the DVLA website but my advice is to do your own research as there are many misunderstandings about these issues.

Your assumption is correct Catherinef, if it is not I have been driving illegally for the past 15 years! Your only concern is when you reach 70 years of age when the DVLA will reduce the weights of what you can drive if you don't pass a medical.
