We have a 2012 Bailey 740. We are looking to downsize to a burstener ixeo 680. It isn't as small as we would have liked, but it seems to have everything. Has anyone any experience of this model? We like the central drop down bed, which has easy access. If anyone has any comments, we would be grateful. Also this is Fiat based as opposed to our Peugeot.

We are in our late sixties.

We have a Burstner Ixeo 735 (2014) and whilst the layout will be different to the 680 the quality should be comparable. I think you'll find that the quality of the fittings inside and outside the Burstner are superior to the UK made motorhomes. This is our third Fiat based motorhome and we've never had any problems with the base unit in over 150k miles. There's not a lot to choose between the Fiat and the Peugeot power units. Our daughter has a Peugeot powered motorhome and from my experience of driving both units the Peugeot engine is smoother and quieter on tick-over but the Fiat is quieter when cruising. Statistically the Fiat Ducato 130 engine is one of the most reliable commercial engines on the market so don't be put off by any "anti Fiat" comments.
