Just had the speedo pack up on our Peugot based Eldis, only done 15500 miles.  Looking at the internet to see if there is an easy fix and it seems a common problem. But no signs of any makers recall.  Anyone here shed any light on what causes the failure?  Ours stopped working then coming back from our trip it went silly by flicking between 40 and 100 mph.

Goodness, that was 6 years ago! It’ll have been fixed for sure but the OP hasn’t been active on CT for nearly 12 months so I doubt he'll see your post.

That apart, the speedo is pretty useless and difficult to view from many cab drivers seats.  Would be a bit lost without our portable SatNav which also indicates speed limits.

Thanks.  Yes I use my sat nav to check the speed. Will carry on this way I think
