Bessacarr E480 with 2.3 Ducato 26.4 mpg

I thought I would just post this for anyone who may be interested as I have seen previous posts discussing mpg. We have just filled up our new Bessacarr 4.05t E480 with fuel today having just covered the first 454 miles from new. I have travelled on the motorway from Preston to East Riding of Yorkshire then done some local trips to run the engine over winter and had two trips away to local sites. I have also spent a bit of time practicing getting it parked on and off my drive and at the storage site so was keen to see what the overall mpg was. I was surprised to have achieved 26.4 mpg considering it was a euro 4 engine and not the new euro 5. Bears well for longer distance runs on the continent. The model I have does not have dual trip meters but the computer seems to be pretty accurate as it generally says I am averaging around 27/28 mpg when I am travelling.
