Hi All  I am looking to buy a set of Alloy wheels for my Adria Coral on a ducato chassis.  We are have difficulty locating any decent designs or the sizes we want in Cornwall.  Does anyone have any experience of changing the wheels on their outfit from steel to alloy?  We also carry a steel spare wheel lashed down in the garage of the van  Cheers Donna

Why not try the likes of https://www.mytyres.co.uk/

These internet companies supply wheels as well as tyres at very attractive prices. A few years ago I used such a supplier for a set of steel rims and winter tyres. They arrived from Germany in 3 days at a price that vastly undercut anything I could source in the UK.

They are available on ebay original OE spec just search Ducato wheels.

Be careful if you do not use OE ones as that is a heavy rig and you need commercial grade wheels, there will be wheels of the right size pitch and offset but not necessarily with the correct load rating.

Thanks ALL this is really helpful .  I'll take a look at the suggestions and have a look interestingly my wheels are 15" not 16" which I think is on the newer model of coral and matrix.    The tyres are still in VGC  I am assuming I can get the tyres on the steel rims  put on the new alloys or am I looking at a completely new set of boots?  Cheers Donna

"my wheels are 15" not 16".......

which means you are on the 'light' chassis (16" are std on the heavy chassis and optional on the light chassis).

this means you must get wheels with a PCD (pitch circle diameter) of 118mm not the larger pitch 130mm.

i found this out when i was sorting a spare for our van which is on the light chassis but has optional 16" wheels....so PCD of 118.

Re Ken's point above re insurance. Some will charge an extra premium and other won't but all will want to be informed.

Update on my wheels:  Taking all your helpful advice particularly about the PCD we bought our new boots from a company called Vanwheels in Walsall who also arranged for new tyres to be sourced and fitted at discount. Delivery was free.  Nothing was too much trouble for this company including my stream of  stupid questions.  I would recommend them!

Ironically, when we were on site on Friday up in Bridlington, saw an identical set of wheels on another motorhome!

They look very similar to the Alloys I put on my Bailey . I did buy mine from Bailey but have seen them for sale elsewhere. I was glad to get rid of the wheel trims which have to be strapped on as they are expensive to replace. Glad you got it sorted.
