Hi All

We will doing a short trip every 4-6 weeks over the Autumn/Winter season and don’t intend taking an awning. However was thinking about taking a small pop up tent to put muddy boots, etc in. Does anyone already do this, or have any other ideas we can use?

Many thanks

Depends on what the etc is ?we just keep our boots under the LV most tents are made of man made material ,which is very prone to condensation ,so may make whats inside wet unless well vetilatedundecided

Don’t like putting on stone cold boots, particularly in freezing weather.โ˜น๏ธ Therefore worst of mud off, in dog wash if available. Then into open boot bag and wet locker in caravan and now garage in MH. Both heated. Wet boots / clothing aren’t going to dry in a tent in any event. When we had a caravan things like chairs stopped in the back of the car, brought out if warm enough to sit out.

Choose a site with a drying room for wet clothes and boots overnight - there’s one at Haltwhistle which is not too far from your address.

Along the same lines of Steve's post, why not put them in the boot of your car in a box or bag if necessary? ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿป‍โ™‚๏ธ

It seems wasteful to heat a caravan or motorhome that is supposed to be designed for outdoor use and we never have, BUT, we have had four caravans of which three had damp; one motorhome and that had damp. So, who knows?

We have found 50 litre plastic boxes and lids very useful for putting (very) muddy boots in and we can get three or even four pairs in. The sides are tall enough to keep mud off everything and the lid helps too and they are kept in the car. We also use one of the shoe trays for inside the caravan when we don't have an awning.

Some club sites, especially those in walking areas like the lakes also have drying rooms which are very good for drying boots and rain gear.
