not a good year for Lunar, lots of split front and rear panels.

if you have any kind of warranty with the dealer they need to sort it. Unfortunately Lunar went bust this year and the new lunar automotive company have agreed to warrant old lunar vans from 2017 to 2019 only. Your only recourse is the dealer whom your contact is anyway. Checkout the consumer rights act to see what your rights are, I’d also get some legal advise too, also did you get finance out, as the finance company can also help you get it sorted. armed with the correct information you can then approach the dealer with all the necessary information to get them to act as they should, repair your van.

Do I understand that a repair had been done after purchase and that it failed?

having read this and recent posts on build quality, now my own dear old Coachman VIP has started letting in water after 15 faithful years I come to the conclusion that there's no such thing as a dry, forever water-tight caravan. Let's face it, we're pulling a box around, tacked together with screws and glue, over some the worst roads in Europe, sooner or later they're all going to leak or fall to bits. What miffs me most is mine was serviced last year and damp checks were supposed to be part of the deal. Anyway this has all got me wondering if any manufacturer has ever thought of a "turtle-back" design, where the whole body is made out of one mold and the only holes are for doors windows and skylights. As a bonus such a shape would be aerodynamic thus saving the planet and fuel costs. Just a thought

Agreed...and i said on another post relating to this, one of the main failures of earlier model caravans was the lack of suspension, hence even more jarring and shaking. I have a 2008 Coachman Amara, not totally free from damp, last service highest reading was 10 pct which i consider good, but in a number of seams over the years i have added an additional blob of silicone just to be on the safe side. I think Coachmans are on slightly larger axels with larger wheels which helps supress some of the vibration, or so i have been told

Agree and I don't think the swings in temperature help. My motorhome is entering it 9th season since new and this year I have had to remove the rear window and re-seal and I have just today done the same to a skylight and done a temporary job on another window with the aim of having that out and resealing it before the spring.
