Water 'draindown' for winter

Hi there,

As summer never happened up here, it cannot be long before winter!!!!

Last year we thought we had drained our system but had a burst just behind the inlet area.

Consequently I have been thinking about getting ALL the water out of our caravan system. I know you can try to 'blow' water out or tow with your valves and taps open, but neither of these work very well at total draining.

I know there is a gadget called 'Floe' (see;www.keepfloeing.com) that you can purchase, but it is quite expensive, especially as you need to buy the appropriate adaptor suitable for your pump, and this can mean a new adaptor everytime you change the caravan.

I remember reading some time ago about a DIY air pressure 'draindown' gadget made from various things and powered by a foot pump or tyre compressor.

Has anyone seen this, or have any ideas on how to make the same?

Would be grateful for any DIY ideas - thanks.
