Hi All

I am going to need to change the tyres on the Van pretty soon as they were fitted in 2016. Current Tyres are Hyfly Super 2000 185 R14 102/100R. (already fitted when I got the van in 2018) The original tyre was GT Radial Maxmiler CX

Van is an Elddis Rambler 19/4Se 1540 Mptlm

I Generally like to go for mid range tyres.

What is everybody running these days.

Cheers

Colin

Hi Colin

I had to change one of my tyres on compass Liberte same size, I had a problem getting one as the 14" size is becoming rare.,had to wait a couple of weeks for them to come in from the continent, not alot of tyre firms stock them. Also check date on side of tyre another one of mine was over a year and a half old

Thanks for the reply, what brand did you go for?

To tell the truth I haven't a clue what tyres are on my caravan, when they needed changing after 5 years like you for age not wear I took the caravan to a tyre fitter (National Tyres I recall) and asked to have them replaced with the same tyre size specification.

I have no idea if having mid range tyres is needed for a caravan but others might? The ones I got were at the cheap end and after four years still have plenty of tread left and have caused no problems.

Do watch out for the date code I would ask for this when ordering.  I purchased some 185 14 C last year an they were already 3 year's old. I did get a full refund when I complained. Provided they have correct loading capacity and are European made I go for the cheapest.
