Trauma Water Filter Housing Leak

I had a similar problem with my previous van but on the pump plug in connection. I smeared it, on advice, from someone on here with silicone grease and it then went in easier and stopped leaking. You could try that on the O ring.

Thanks, Justus2. I have tried vegetable oil (as recommended by Truma for smearing on the pump plug), but this made absolutely no difference.

I had the same problem it was a very small crack in the housing very hard to see tightening made it leak more had to replace the housing .

Hi All.

I have a 2014 Coachman Pastiche with a Truma Filter housing. Caravan bought from new. Since purchasing I have had 4 new housing fitted at an average cost of £150 each time. I smear with veg oil and am extremely careful when fitting the plug. Ive had 2 so far this year.

Contacted Truma out of frustration to be told:

"It's normally the water pressure that causes the crack!" ( Like buying wellies and told not to go in the rain with them)

Second reason was that the plug was too big! ( Really)

I was advised by Truma to return it to them and they would test to see if water pressure had cracked it ( How do you test for pressure without a sealed unit. Beyond me.

Not hopeful of a positive response. Probably be told I was pitched near atree with the wrong type of leaves growing on it.

Just get rid of the filter, it serves no useful purpose. 

this post is over 2 years old. He may not have caravan now.

I have the same problem but have solved it by putting the "o" ring on the outside of the housing not in the cap.
