Trading in your caravan

Trading in to a dealer against your new caravan or selling privately?

We're about to attempt to sell ours and we're in two minds as to whether to do away with the hassle and just trade it in, although the trade-in offer is considerably less than we could probably get privately (against a brand new caravan).

Selling privately - we keep the caravan on a secure site 10 miles away so we would have to drag the van off there every time someone wanted to see it. (Not to mention the time off work .) But we could get as much as £2000 more by doing this.

Any thoughts?  What helped you make up your mind?
