thinking of buying new caravan, which is the better company, e.g less leaks, good customer service etc

Assuming the clubs survey is eventually published they might answer your question based on a very large sample rather than a few individual opinions. If you look at the PC surveys over the last three years then there is nothing in it for customer satisfaction although Sprites do far better than either.

On dampness though the laast survey had Swift under 10% but not clear how far. Bailey were aparrently over this but again the exact figure was not given.

All LVs as posted by several, are mostly in the eye of the persons who are looking,

And as for which is best there is not a make anywhere in the world that IMHO would be able to hold their hands up and honestly say they have produced perfectly no problems vehicles,

Its just we all wish for perfection in exchange for our money,

.Surveys are only a guide hence in you post ."Sprites do better than both" yet Sprites are a "cheaper"Swift, where as a Bailey is a Bailey

Bailey owners all tend to be 90 years of age. They're chintzy, have an old persons grab handle inside the door, have the battery in a stupid place under the floor, can't be bothered to make the bathroom window opaque and look odd. Need I say more.

Swift every time

This might seem strange coming from someone that owns a Bailey motorhome but four of our previous caravans were from the Swift stable, all purchased new and each kept betweem 3 and 9 years. We were perfectly happy with them. They have changed construction methods since we last purchased so I don't how they have performed.
