Spare wheels

Why can't caravan manufacturers fit an extension pipe to the spare wheel to enable pressure checking & inflation to be done from the side of the van. Nobody regularly checks the spare as it's too difficult. You only find out if there is a problem when you come to use it and that's too late.An extension pipe would cost peanuts, but the gains would be enormous.
