Sevice wheelnut tightening

When we had our caravan serviced the technician said that the caravan club had directed service engineers to tighten all wheelnuts to 130 on the torque wrench, and that they advise that caravanners do this before very trip. Anybody else heard about this? Incidentally, he insisted I watched him set the wrench to 130 and tighten the nuts!

Surprised it has not yet been mentioned in this thread that the sequence of tightening before and during torque wrench use is important in settling the wheel against the hub.

An old thread, but if anyone doubts that many wheels come off a caravan today.....four caravans were repaired where mine was repaired, and all damage was due to wheels coming off.
