Senator LED striplight replacement

Hi, I'm at a loss of how to remove the existing led sriplights above side lounge windows, kitchen and microwave shelf.  They are encased in a clear plastic quadrant running the length of the lights. The led strips seem cheap as chips to source, but I'm reluctant to force the plastic quadrants off in case I snap a clip etc. and make matters worse.  Any help gratefully received. Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, but search does show anything relevant.

Hi, probably obvious with hindsight, but the plastic cover can be removed by prising an edge with a knife, screwdriver etc. and work along its length.  The led spade terminals are accessed by removing the front of the shelf; three small screws in this case, facing downwards and accessed from inside the locker/cupboard and carefully easing the front toward you. The led strip is held in place by sticky pads. I trust this may help someone in the future.

Further thought. If you are lucky, you may be able to pull the spade connectors through the small access hole to save removing the cupboard fronts. Not so in my case. Or if you are proficient with a soldering iron, desolder the existing strip from the spade supply wires and solder the new strip in its place. Make sure that the 12v supply is switched off.😀

Just one thing consider though. LEDs are great and good value, but don't buy the ' cheap as chips' ones. I did this a few years ago and relaced all the strip lights on my old van. Great initially, but after a year quite a few LEDs had gone out ( overheated?). I have since replaced them all with good quality ones from a firm specialising in LED lights and 3 years later they all work brilliantly. 😁
