Roof-mounted Satellite Dishes

Just brought a 15 month old caravan which had a roof-mounted dish removed prior to purchase, leaving 4 sticky, felt pads on the roof. The pads are approx 100x45x3mm in size. There is another, much smaller pad above a wardrobe with a corresponding grommet on the inside of the caravan (indicating a definite hole there).

Does anyone know if these four pads hide holes or were they the sole means to attach the dish to the roof?

I would like to remove them as they appear to attract dirt, but don't want to open a can of worms by removing them (figuratively speaking) and leaving openings for damp to get in.

Any feedback appreciated including the best way to remove them.
