Plumbing question.

Plugging in the blue water pipe from the water roll, I found I had no power and saw that the electrical half of the inlet had broken away, probably plastic fatigue?

I have not handled this type of plumbing connector and wonder if they just pull apart and can they be re-used by just pushing together again?

This was the holiday that we do not usually have, broken parts, turbo pipe on car burst and victim of a dangerous prank on the M4.
