Please help me become a caravan owner

I guess this is the start of my quest to become a caravan owner.  I am just about to become redundant (i hope) and I plan to put some of my severence pay towards a van and a car to pull it.  We have 2 children 3 and 5 so we outgrew the motorhome.  We have looked round dealerships to get an idea of what we are looking for and have decided that a 5 berth will be good for us as they tend to have a second living area that becomes a bedroom so the girls will have their space, 

So that bits OK.  Unfortunaltely we have a good but limited budget to cover both van and car.  We have so many car reviews now that I am giving up hope that this dream will ever come true.

Please can anyone help us choose our future car - needs to pull a 5 berth van but can't burst our budget.

I would love to get advice from parents with small children too - in fact I would love to hear from anyone.
