New and looking for advice

Hi there, were new to the site and dont have a van yet. have spent the past 5 years researching! lol

we have seen a lot of vans at dealers and are pretty sure of the layout we would like, the first choice would be 6 berths with 3 fixed bunks with the dinette behind a slide, but these layouts seem to be the new style which makes it more expensive but I think it would be worth it!.

We are hoping to keep the cost as low as possible because it is our first van although were pretty sure were going to love it! our kids have health issues which a caravan would accomodate best for them so its got to work !lol so It would be money well spent! 

To keep the costs down we are prepared  to buy private (very nervous about this though) if we can get the one we want, is there any other things we should check Ive got the pdf on cc checklist.

Or do you think we should spend the extra and go to a dealer?      sorry for the ramble!
