NC 500 for Caravans?

In another group it has been said that the NC500 is not suitable for Caravans - I was surprised  any experiences anyone?

There is one stretch of the road up Loch Lomond side that gives me the shivers though!

Yes a lot of people don't know how to use those roads with passing places or have no manners!  The steep gradients were mentioned too.

Loch Lomond isn't part of the NC500 route.

Perfectly possible with a caravan providing common sense is used which means not towing on the Bealach na Ba or any other road a good map shows as being unsuitable. Stick to the major roads and all will be well.

Yes Tom I meant to say that it wasn't still a nasty piece of road - I haven't met anything I couldn't tackle on the North Coast though.

Agree with Tinwheeler, all possible except where advised. We towed our van around most of it during May/June this year without any issues. Take your time and look well ahead for oncoming vehicles - enjoy it is a great scenic route.

I did the NC500 without a problem, my rig is 43 feet long 5.3Tonne

I just did the 71 mile single track with passing places at 6.30 am when no other mad caravaner was awake :-)

Just dont follow less than 2 passing places behind the vehicle in front.

Wonderful trip enjoy
