Multi stop lights

When I bought my van in 2010 it was the first one that I had owned that had four stop lights, two near to top of the van.  Good safety feature.  I read up on the van, and thwe 'new' car also purchased.  Somewhere, I can't remember where but I suspect an Advice sheet, mentioned that multi stop lights can overload the car electrics and show as a 'short' on the car computer.  The recommendation was to fit LED's for the top two lights, which I did.

My caravan service this year notes that 'top stop lights not bright enough, suspect LED's'. Has anyone had any trouble from using LED's, or from not changing the normal bulbs!
