I had never noticed before I have just been looking in the handbook at the specs for my Swift caravan at the MTPLM and it gives two figures 1280kg which says (Lower Limit) and 1350kg. (Upper Limit) find it a bit confusing giving two figures. Just wondered could anbody explain it.

I would think it is refering to a weightupgrade that can be made (via body side sticker, and upgraded certificate for a price) to bring it to the axle max capacity

the lower weght will allow lighter cars to tow it

I think JVB has the correct answer.

our figures are 1815 and 1900kg

we upgraded via our dealer, cost £50 back in 2008

increased tyre pressures required

Thanks for the reply’s I was thinking my thoughts were the higher figure might be the upgrade figure. I am under the lower limit so don’t have a problem but just wondered why two figures.

There should be a plate or sticker near the door with what the mtplm is for your van
