Microwaves in vans

It was with great sadness our beloved Panasonic microwave of 20+ years has finally popped its clogs and had to be replaced ..another Panasonic before you ask..got me thinkin about the one in our van at eye height...who removes the heavy glass plate in theirs before they travel? ..we never have but then realised they are quite heavy and completely free to fly around the oven at will. I will be in the future. Has anyone had any issues ?
