Lunar bed slats

There is a thread but it goes back to July 2019.

My double bed would collapse during the night because the slats were able to wriggle slightly sideways and fall out of their groves. I measured them and bought three lengths 2.5m ash slightly wider and slightly thicker. These cut into 12 new slats which I stapled to the webbing in place of the original 11. The new ones are only 0.5 cm longer but are not able to twist and fall out. There was also no way to hold the whole pull-out assembly in place so I drilled hole through the side channels and made a stop piece that fits in the channel; takes the bolt and tensions the whole assembly.

Hi - we have the same problem with our Bailey caravan (looks like a common problem with the newer vans - never had an issue with out 16 year old Lunar).

Did you have to remove the whole slat and header unit to replace the slats, or were you able to do it in situ?
