Jockey Wheel

Hi all,

I have seen a few you tube videos of late where people have said that the jockey wheel has unwound and dropped whilst travelling.

I have heard of this but fortunately never happened to us, I believe people have tried many solutions, I found that drilling a small hole through the sleeve and winder then placing a pin through stops the potential for unwinding when travelling.

PS this is when in the up position and if fully wound up the holes should always be in line, but still ensure that the whole jockey wheel is clamped up.

This has no impact on the operation of the jockey wheel once the pin is removed, just my solution.

Sorry if this is a repeat discussion.

Sounds like a very simple cost effective back up.

Not a tow-er of any description but I'm surprised there's not a 'safety feature' to ensure the jockey couldn't accidently come down whilst travelling
