Hi all, day 2 of our first caravanning experience in a 2nd hand coachman amara 480/4.  First time i am putting the annex up.  With no idea how this all fits together.

I think it is a westfield, but there is no model number.

do i set up the awning first, or is the annex a seoerate self contained unit?  Notenough garden space to practice at home sadly.

Can't attach photos as the files are too large, which is helpful...

If it is what I think it is, (awning with a big extension on the side?) then awning first, then attach and inflate/erect extension. You might want to check with Wardens/site owners that your pitch is actually large enough to accommodate everything you intend putting onto it though first......... Fire safety distances between outfits need to be maintained. Good luck.

Good advice from TDA.

TDA, bang on the money.  Large awning, and lets say after 5 hrs of getting it up, we do not look like caravanning professionals.

But not too shabby, it's an older style, big heavy bronze poles, heavy canvas material, its all a bi squint but will stay up.

We have the dogs with us too, and luckily one of them found a large pile of horse manure to have a luxurious roll around in, after the baby shampoo and tomato sauce shower it's wine o' clock.  So far so good!

Good to hear you got it up👍 You sound like you are having a good time, long may it continue😁

Top tip. Keep an eye on the weather as you get towards the end of your holiday. If rain is forecast, you might want to think about packing up a dry awning. It’s a whole lot easier than a wet soggy one, and then having to get it out to dry off back home👍
