How did you lose it ?

With the recent news that "Mr. Royal " has had his massive German caravan stolen ,despit removing the wheels and having it mounted on railway sleepers . it got me wondering if there are certain situations or locations which can make your van vunerable to theft or not.

 For instance ;

Has a van ever been stolen from any organised site?

Is a quiet CS/CL more prone to attack ?

Has anyone (other than me ) had a van removed from a "secure" storage site ?

Does putting up an awning etc make van harder or less likely to take ?

Anyone lost a van with a wheel lock or clamp on it ?

I know that this topic may drag up bad memories and that these statistics are probably in the Insurance companies records ...but they are reluctant to divulge such info and to me knowledge is power.

Anything that prevents the scum*** of this world getting their hand on my hard earned property has got to be good & I should hate to go through the experience of losing my van again as it was a VERY painfull experience.
