Heaters

We are starting to feel the cold and with a baby we need our van to be nice and toasty. We have the gas heater but don't massively trust ion left on overnight nor do I want to waste money on gas when we can use electrics so I was toying with the idea of removing it, remembering to keep the isolation tap turned off and blanking the pipes off, and replacing it with a wall mountable electric heater. Just wondering if anyone has done this successfully and whether there's anything else I need to consider. Cheers
