Fan assisted cooling for Fridge

We have a two year old Bailey with a Dometic fridge and in southern France and Italy this year the fridge struggled to get down to 10 deg. C in the hot weather. I have heard that it is possible to fit a fan to provide additional air flow in to the fridge cooling coils which will make it more effective. In fact, we spoke to a spares company at the NEC who sold a kit to do just that.  It was a bit expensive and it wasn’t clear how it was fitted. I have a 12 volt fan retrieved from a scrapped computer and was wondering whether to fit this to the fridge intake but not sure how and where to mount it and whether it will be effective.  The wiring is no problem for me but not sure of the mounting arrangement and how I would get access to the fridge (through the outside grill?).  Does anybody have experience of fitting a fan?
