Hi all

I have a 2010 swift Challenger which has recently been serviced and damp tested and been informed that there’s potentially £2,000 worth of damp repairs needed, I’ve took the van to another specialist and been advised that the original repair cost is about right, my question is can anyone out there recommend a damp repair company? Ideally in the North Wales, Midland area.

Thanks for looking..

If the initial service engineer and the other specialist both came to the same conclusion of about £2K, they they are singing from the same hymn sheet and obviously know something. Why not ask them for a repair company name.

Mobile Caravan Body Repairs

Whilst cleaning the caravan yesterday I found a large crack on the rear panel, off side upper corner about 5inchs long. On tinternet last night I spotted a local (Tamworth) mobile caravan body repair company called "Caravan Scratch Fix". Does anyone have any experience of using them.

hope this helps

Swift had a problem with cracks forming on the top rear corners. They made caps to cover the cracks covering the repair under warranty - as long as you’d met their servicing stipulations etc. If your van is Swift with the same profile, I guess that you could buy two caps from a dealer. I think that they stuck them in place with silicone sealant.

If you are in Walsall ( per your user name) then I can recommend this guy. I've use him for several years for annual services, new tyres and a repair to my water pump on my Swift Elegance. Very trustworthy, straight and honest, hence very busy. I know he tackles damp problems but no idea on costs etc.

I originally posted the scratchfix thread and  it turns out they work with the outfit in Walsall you refer to.

I have booked scratchfix to repair our caravan on 17th (weather dependant as mobile service)
