Caravanning with children and disability

Hi,

We have what seems to us an unusual and frustrating situation, but I suspect that outside our sphere others have experienced this and found strategies; I would appreciate any useful suggestions. My wife and I are both of poor health with mobility issues and though both of us can walk, I particular poorly so. Our 9 year old son has diabetes and this is an additional challenge. We keep trying to take our 2 young children (9 and 3) away in the caravan like we did with our older children (when we had better health) but have had to repeatedly cancel as we do not have the energy or ability to chase after them (especially the youngest) when on site. We would probably cope better when we get them out to destinations near the site such as museums. I suppose my question should be “Are there any disabled parents groups within the Caravan Club”? Ironically, the caravan has however probably got more use in the last 3 years than most do in a lifetime as it has provided a spare room for an older daughter and occasional visitors!

Many thanks
