Calling owners of longer twin axle vans

Our new (to us) van is 8.35m (27') long! Do you find you need to check with sites (including CC sites) if the can take your outfit and do you find you are sometimes too big?

Also, the new van doesn't come with a motor mover. Our old van is a 21' twin axle and hubby is very adept at reversing it and we've never needed a mover. Do you think they're a necessity with a van of this size or just something else to take up precious weight allowance?
