Are dealer specials worthwhile

We went to the Glasgow show last week and decided to get trade in figures against our caravan. We first looked at a dealer special with just under £1300 worth of extras although £280 of that was a choice of upholstery and not all the others were wanted. We then got a quote from another dealer on the same model without the extras but allegedly having £2,000 knocked off the price. Because of the reduction they reduced the trade in and offerd us significantly less but the net sum to be found was still £1,000 less. Despite the fact we were told the extras were in the price almost all of the cost was being charged for so there was no saving unless you needed all the extras and then very little.

We have now tried a third dealer and ended up exactly half way between the two but now know what we always suspected these offers are not really genuine.
