Another Truma Submersible Water Pump Thread

Just after we took delivery of our van, I swapped both the external (Truma) and internal (Reich) pump for Whale High Flows. The shower pressure / flow rate is now as good as our showers at home. A vast improvement on the original Truma pump in many ways.

The impeller shouldn't be stiff so it sounds as if it's had it. Most caravan accessory shops have the Whale pump with a Truma socket and from memory, I think I paid about £55 for one.

Thanks. I think that’s the way I’m going to go as a first option, as it does seem the pump is the likely culprit.

Yes agree with above.  It sounds very much like the pump.  You should not have to turn it on and off at the control panel and the impeller should turn freely.  

I had this on a Whale pump kept blowing fuse, rang Whale and they said the pump had got water in it!
Thought that was its purpose new pump required.

 I've bought a new Whale submersible pump with Truma connection, fitted a 5 amp fuse (as specified by Whale), adjusted the pressure switch, and all seems good now.

The Truma pump that kept blowing fuses will be consigned to the bin. Only thing I would say is that the Truma cover for the Aquaroll seems much better quality than the Whale version, but that's a minor thing given we now have a working pump.
