Another Dilemma

My mate bought a new caravan from a dealer last year, part of the deal was that the first service would be free. It duly went in a few days ago for the first free service. On picking the van up he was told it had damp in the front, the worst thing you want to hear.

He argued for a new van, of course they were having non of it and explained that it was to late for that but it would get a new front, cost thousands of pounds and all covered by the warranty and the reassurance that when he got it back he would never know the difference. Its booked in for two weeks time to have the remedial work done.

Now my mate, a retired engineer, a caravanner for many years and the type of person who knows everything about everything about caravan decided to check himself, he has a professional quality damp meter but could find no damp, he borrowed another damp meter which also found no damp, he has now taken various items apart for visual inspection and further meter readings and still cant find any trace of damp whatsoever.

He now believes the dealer is about to rip off the manufacturer. What should he do

A, Say nothing and let them get on with it.

B, Report the matter to the manufacturer.

C, Have a quiet word with the dealer and tell them there is no damp.
