New to caravanning, we have an old 1996 Bailey Ranger 500/5 with the old fashioned pressed steel towing hitch. Can anyone advise me if it is worth spending £260 for an Al-Ko 3004 friction pad type hitch? Reason being I have an absolute horror of turning the caravan over, so tend to poodle along at 50mph.  Is it a job I could do myself?
