WiFi on Site

We have just spent 8 lovely days on the New Forest Centenary Site, with perfect pitches and exceptional Wardens.

When this site was booked the site information listed WiFi , and the site leaflet state WiFi was available.

Having pitched up and tried to log on I could get no signal. On checking with the office I was informed that not all the pitches were covered, in fact it appeared that at least half the site would get a weak signal, or no signal at all.

In this period of high technology, and the need to be able to communicate, then if WiFi is included then it should be over all the pitches, or it should be specifically highlighted in the information provided at time of booking.

It costs extra to use the WiFi, that I accept, but it could influence how I book sites in the future

Whilst I would agree, if it is not available across the whole site this should be noted in important information, or pointed out on arrival. If Having WiFi is important to you, bronze rated sites are best avoided, unless you make your own provision.

Because of its location NFCS only has a minimum bandwidth connection of 1 to 8 Mbs shared across the whole site. Given the number of potential users that is never going to be good. On such sites I only generally find it usable early and late and then only for emails and general browsing.

When we visited in May it worked as anticipated. However, I was also able to get 3G on my 3 MiFi, which although obviously on the edge of its range, worked reasonably well.
