Hi.

Currently  on site at York. Paid my £25.00 for 12 months access only to find that download speed is 0.08mb/s or 80 kilo bits in old money. Takes 10 minutes to download a page, 3 to 4 minutes just to log on/off. I have tried 3 different devices and can see two masts situated 50 and 70 foot away. Could the C.C determine 1. Is there a fault at York which is limiting broadband? 2. What their agreement with the service provider specifies as the site download speed? Third day here. First few hours was excellent speeds. Something appears amiss.

Have you tried using it late at night or early morning?  When others are sleeping.

It is equally dire at York Beechwood.

JVB - not sure why you keep saying that the op should ask the wardens about this. They will simply say that it's nothing to do with them, it's an AirAngel issue (even though the CC sell the product).

Thought your 'friends' would have told you that......Wink

Don't agree about Beechwood being equally dire its much worse than Rowntree Park and most of the wardens I have met there will warn you. It's almost  impossible to connect except during the night. I have been on both sites for a week this year and had less problem getting at least some connection time at Rowntree although I admit it was sometimes easier to find a BT hot spot in town.

Maybe we should start to compile a list of the best and worst CC  site WiFi. On Wirral CP at moment and WiFi very good but site only about half full since grass pitches now out of use and that helps.

..As you are one people that will post a "complaint" on here without checking with the site staff before hand  ,and then try to do your usual "wriggle" when some one queries your post  ,I do not think you can say what site staff will answer,UndecidedCool
