Wi-Fi iPad Log in

I know there are loads of wifi moans but I don't recall seeing anyone make this complaint before. I have been away and stayed on about 6 sites that have wifi. I refuse to pay money to use it because it is so unreliable but do like to visit CT and the website as a whole via the free access arrangement.  This is the first time I have tried to use the free wifi with my iPad and found on every site I have been unable to log in to CT. I have been able to read it but not able to log in to post. The only log in that was successful was to make bookings. The situation was the same with both my iPhone and iPad both using Safari.  I shall take this issue up with CC but wondered if anyone else has had the same experience.
