Where would you stay this summer?

As you may be aware, The Club offers alternative accommodation such as holiday cottages, tent camping and pods. For me, a weekend away in a sunny cottage by the sea sounds like my idea of summer heaven! Cool

Have any of you stayed in cottages and lodges? Perhaps a spot of glamping?

I’d love to hear about your experiences, let me know!

Rochell - Where is the list of the "cottages by the sea" on offer from the CC   --We like to hire a cottage at least once a year so might consider the CC offer if the cottage is in a stunning scenic location.

Just click on 'holiday cottages' in Rochelle's post and it brings up the link.

Hi Kennine,

You can view all the cottages on offer here. Trewethett Farm is on the coast of Cornwall and has a bungalow and a cottage on site. Check out the website and let me know what you think Smile

Hi Rochell, Thanks for your suggestions, but you set me dreaming of that palm thatched cottage on stilts on the beach at the southern tip of Sri Lanka with the roar of the surf pounding in from the Indian Ocean, and boys cooking up spicy fish curries in a cafe just up the hill. ...

....and then I woke up to find a chip van parked in a corner of a waterlogged field while the rain hammerted down on my metal roof.

We do a lot of cottage holidays. Got one booked September, hidden away on Dartmoor, virtually on its own. Fantastic place. It was scorching for the whole fortnight last time we were there, hot enough to swim in River Dart (without a wetsuit!). No rain at all, in fact spring that supplied water to cottage had dried up, so we were around when borehole was sunk! Going to see Tour of Britain finish on Haytor again as well, couple of miles stroll across gorgeous moorland.

Thank you Rochelle I've just had a look, the cottages look good.

Without being Nationalistic, I notice that there are no cottages at all in the beautiful country of Scotland. Or have I missed a page ??.

May I request that the CC endeavour to offer such amenities UK wide and suggest that the unrivalled stunning scenery and seascapes of North West Scotland would ensure a good take up of cottages in that area.
