having merrily booked our sites in Wales in the spring I went to print out my booking confirmation, only to get two pages of white on black printing and it didn't even include the dates of the bookings. Am I doing it wrong or is this a shocking waste of ink and paper? I waited for the bookings to be confirmed by email and printed them instead. The bookings system is brilliant but come on guys, please think of the planet - and my wallet!

Hi, As you say it could be "operator error" but unless you don't have a smart phone why would you need to print it anyway?

We also do not print them, just save to a reservations folder on our email account. Then enter the details into our electronic calendar. Both are available off line. Apart from for your own information, I am  not sure what use they would be anyway, you haven’t actually parted with any money and if you got there and they said they had no booking and the site was full, what could you do?

For some reason I did print out one of my bookings a while back and on arrival at the site I was asked if I had proof of the date it was booked which I had and this pre dated the site fee  rise so I paid the old price

I used to print the booking confirmations, but I was never once asked for one so I have not bothered for several years now. I don't have the phone app either. However, I would be able to find the email on my phone or laptop if push came to shove. Never has yet!

I do tend to print the email just to go in the file for that trip along with other information. I have never been asked for any proof of booking when arriving at a site so I am probably wasting my time!!! A printed version my be useful if you have booked the stay in multiple odd days in order to help reception with the various booking numbers?

I always take a screen shot of relevant details on my phone, just in case I can’t bring up e-mail

I simply put each confirmation email into a “saved” file, along with any email confirmations I might have from CL owners as well. These are Deleted User upon arrival at each Site. The only other thing I do is put the name of where we are staying on our holiday calendar at home, mainly to remind us when we don’t want to be booking other things like appointments, vet visits or haircuts. This year we have had to book Sites a few weeks in advance, to make sure we get what we need, not all with Club as well.

Even basic phones have the capacity to store calendar dates, providing the user knows how to put the information in.
