I have just renewed and changed my RP european cover for this year. I have changed it from multi trip as the most days away I can get on that is 66 in any one trip, I had thought of going for the 122 longstay as recommended on another thread. Thankfully the CC staff take the time to explain everything really well or I would have signed up for something that wouldn't have suited us for this year.

The reason, well we are going away in the Spring for 44 days (ferry to ferry) and again in the Autumn for 75 days (ferry to ferry) so both would be within the 122 days no problem. Not so, as the policy runs from HOME to HOME so anytime taken in the UK has to be included within the 122 days, we live in Scotland our 2 children live in England so on our return to the UK we take time out to visit them. Thankfully I talked through this with the staff member before taking out the 122 days long stay and decided to think again. I took sometime to go through the information online and workout what would be our better option for this year (each year is differant) we could take out 185 days long stay at a cost of £540 that would give us plenty of time. However I have gone for 2 single trips, one for up to 66 days £234 and I will take out another for Autumn at a cost of £273 for I think 94 days, this would then be a total of £507 so a saving of £33 + the discount.

Please be aware if taking out RP that the policy runs from 'your home' to 'your home' not just the time you are abroad. Thanks to Claire and Katrina for the time they took to go through everything.
