Plea to the web site administrators

HI, I have been a member of the caravan club for a few years now and have found finding a site with vacancies on a specific date / weekend / week very tiresome an often frustrating.

I find the only option when using this site is to give the dates you require and the area or site you wish to travel to. Then you have to trawl through the camp sites to find one with vacancies and this is, as most people who use this method to book would agree, is both tedious and laborious. Often this has led me to give up and book with a non CC site.

I will give you our current situation as an example of how infuriatng this can be. My wife and I have 3 children and a dog and would like to visit anywhere in the uk during the summer holidays for a fortnight. So we have our travel dates and put them into the site. we aren't too worried about location, after all we have a touring caravan so that we could go to lots of different places. we leave site name and area blank. We are given a list of sites all of which we have to select individually to find out if there are vacancies. After 50 sites and 2 hours of searching I admit defeat.

Could the web site not offer a feature whereby one can place the dates on which they wish to arrive and depart, pitch type and facilities required and the web site can then give a list of suitable camp sites with vacancies over the required period?

I understand that some members only wish to visit their favourite site and some book way in advance and for those members this would not be a useful feature but I believe most of the users of the site would find the suggested method far easier than the current one.

Well said Jay. I had forgotten that by putting in the dates narrowed the search. Probably because I work on a tour route using specific sites spaced along that route.

Bakers - No decision yet. He's looking at qualifying here first now. It's only a year.

Hi All,

The website will allow you to search all of our network for available pitches for specific dates. All you need to do is put the date range in and click search. This will give a list of all the sites and it shows the type of pitch/s available. It also shows the symbols for the facilities on and around the site.

If you click here you will see the list I generated from searching just with the date range 23/7/17 to 30/7/17.

Best Regards

Tracy

We've always been able to do it. See the staff post above.

It's my most used feature

I thought that was the whole idea of entering your dates?  We tried it a few weeks back for Easter break and it worked well.

OP, I think you are asking for a feature that already exists.
