Money and resources wasted by the Club

We have had breakdown cover through Mayday for a number of years and it is automatically renewed each year.

Today we received through the post details of the benefits of joining and telling us that 8 out of 10 members renew!

I wonder how many other members had the same correspondence. It really is a waste of money and materials sending information to those already having Mayday cover. Why is the Club not showing a responsible attitude to the earth's resources rather than adding to recycling or even landfill?

Surely it is possible for the computer database to have information as to who does not need to be sent such information.

Membership number ending ....508 actually. What you'll see from my replacement post is that the option for alternative cover was not clear and led to my comments. It also says I've now signed up to Mayday. If you look at my original post I really wanted to take out RAC cover but would have had to join CCC to get cover.

One club's enough to cope with methinks.

Your penultimate sentence is not accurate.

Nobody has to be a member of CCC to take out RAC cover so you could have done what you wanted. (I am very surprised that you did not know this).

However, to obtain the extra cover of Arrival (which is provided for CCC members by the RAC) someone obviously has to be a member of CCC as those extras are for members! Obviously that provides full breakdown cover for your caravan as well as your car.

You may possibly be pleased to know that when I last checked Green Flag was less expensive than Arrival so maybe you have saved some money!

Thanks everyone for the various points made. Even with its higher membership cost, CAMC + Mayday is cheaper than CCC (minus its introductory discount) + RAC. Cost isn't everything of course but as recovery terms are pretty much the same for both companies only a callout will tell if the response matches the promises. I'm in no hurry to find out.

Had I appreciated earlier the 2 tier cover with CCC and CAMC  I would have kept a few blood pressures below the danger zone. Apologies to anyone who has ended up in A & E as a result.

So thanks again and onwards and upwards. Next stop a dive into the sites book. Those with a weak constitution might want to bypass posts from me.
