Mayday query

On another forum a member of the CC had an issue with hsi back which made it difficult for him to drive anyway.  As he had the all sing and dancing Mayday cover he called them about towing the caravan home.

This was refused unless he could supply a doctor's certificate.  This invovled finding a surgery that would be open after hours or the nearest hospital.  Unfortunately it is very difficult to get a note from a hospital in a lot of cases.  The poster had to leave the caravan behind and return later in the week to retrieve it.

The concern here is that we have the same type of cover due to my condition and my conditions mostly involves a specialist. The wife can drive, but has never driven my Jeep or towed a twin axle caravan.

Where does that leave us as getting a sick certificate may be difficult?
