A simple question. As the caravan club no longer offer caravan insurance as such what suggestions for a new insurer that does.

I suppose the good thing is that if your insurance auto renews today and you get flooded tomorrow in one of the areas mentioned then the CMC can use the discretion to pay  up anyway do you think?

Another 45 pages of speculation?

Why speculate - this time it is clear. But if you wish to speculate that is up to you

If anyone in an affected area is about to renew they are going to be in a very difficult situation trying to get alternative  cover at short notice. I spent a couple of days on it and that was nothing to do with floods.

As a point of interest since some of the clubs own sites are regularly flooded  will they be warning members to stay away if they don't have properror insurance?

Maybe David but certainly they may look elsewhere. I would not renew with no guidance as to how long this 'state of emergency' decision might pertain as, even though caravan is high and dry in storage I do tour. I am somewhat surprised that the club has aimed their decision at renewals and not just at new business

I wonder how many of those pages will be filled with posts again from those who want the subject shut down. No one is forced to read them or post.

but you and a couple of others have told us on many occasions that your are not renewing your club insurance. We get it you dont need to keep reiterating the fact, probably someone in the club insurance is breathing a sigh of relief. Those of us that read these posts do so to keep informed of new events etc that may be taking place, not to continually read you are leaving, and your previous bad insurance experiences used as examples as to why, but i hope you are very happy with your new provider, bye bye laughing

As David said don't read if you don't wish to. If you have nothing to contribute that's fine as there are other threads that you may wish to read.

I suppose that means that you are in agreement with David.

Hopefully, on re-reading it may not affect renewals? Dunno.

What I would expect though is that with such a restriction is that most folk would look elsewhere for a policy. CMC might just as well suspended the sales of new policies until such time as they are prepared to offer proper cover to touring caravans

I am trying to find the link on this website to the statement about flooding? Not having any luck?
