A simple question. As the caravan club no longer offer caravan insurance as such what suggestions for a new insurer that does.

TBH after reading Rowena's reply, we definitely would prefer a proper insurance company where one can escalate an issue.

We are now glad that we changed to Towergate even though it meant paying the 12% insurance tax.  At least we have peace of mind.

I guess the choice is up to the individual or not whether they want to take the chance.

I do hope you do not have any need to make an insurance claim, but if you do via Towergate it will be interesting to have note of your experience(s), the reviews for Towergate on Trustpilot do not look that great undecided, but i suppose you pay your money and take your chance.

just in case you missed this, as seen for Towergate on Trustpilot Oct 2019

Auto renew on caravan insurance lifted the premium by 50% per month even though there's have been no claims made. Phoned and given load of waffle. Instructed that auto renew be switched off and will shop around on next renewal. Yet another example of company taking advantage of existing customers who have placed their trust in being treated fairly unquote

So true it may be "cheaper?" but it pays to look at the reviews these days as one of the only possible ,at times, the up side of the tinternet

interesting in this post just how many people put their trust in the ombudsman to settle a dispute, below is just one of many instances that i have found where the ombudsman appears to be totally inadequate

11 MONTHS ON!! STILL TRYING TO GET CLAIM SORTED with the Financial onbudsman unquote

has anybody any experience in trying to settle via the ombudsman ?undecided Think i will stick with the club for my caravan insurance, not that the caravan itself is worth much now.

That is nothing to do with making a claim as it refers to the auto renew.  How many thousands did you scroll through to find a negative post?

BTW many years ago we had a claim with Towergate and no issue.  Also many years go a claim through the CC insurance when it was a proper insurance company and had no issue.

The current Caravan Cover is new and has no track record and by Rowena's own admission, it may not be suitable if people have caravans in storage or on HP as the CMC has not notified them of the unregulated policy.

However as you are one of the mainstays of CT and will defend the CMC to the hilt I will take a leave of absence for now.

check out Trustpilot you do not need to scroll through thousands

i dont think Rowena admitted it may not be suitable if people have caravans in storage or on HP, what she said was quote

Regarding the concern around acceptance of Caravan Cover by storage facilities or HP companies, the Club would be happy to pick this up directly with companies if there are any with concerns, as the cover should meet the needs of these companies. unquote

Glad you had 2 succesful claims by 2 different companies, interestingly there is a thread on Trustpilot that leads one to believe that Towergate were in the past a very reputable company, however, their standards would appear to have slipped

but as i said, you pay your money and take your chance.

However as you are one of the mainstays of CT and will defend the CMC to the hilt

really!!!!! very much a newbie i thought, and i think you post much more than me undecided
