You may have to increased the magnification of your screen to see the photo, but this is the advert which appeared on Facebook on Black Friday - but doesn't seem to reflect the normal image of Caravan Club members............ nor do the outfits shown appear to be sticking to 'the rules'.

I'd go along with the idea of turning off all the lamp posts and bollard lights so we can see the stars again as in days of old.

Is that not why the caravan makers provide huge roof lights anyway?

Once again a suggested page on my fb appeared, so out of interest I clicked on Club page.

Question, who would you like to pitch beside? Copied and pasted from fb site

Who do you want by your side on your next adventure? Add a comment and tag the friend you’d love to pitch up next to. Recommend a friend to join the Club and they will receive a Site Night Voucher when they sign up. Members receive a £10 gift voucher for every friend they refer. Learn more: https://goo.gl/s9fznK

Is this not false advertising?  It is certainly giving the wrong impression.  This club operates on a first come, first pick of unoccupied pitches - rightly or wrongly that's how it is.  So how can it be suggested that you pitch next to a friend???  This may be possible given all the stars are in alignment, there's an R in the month etc.  BUT it is not a given.  Unlike with the friendly club where you can request this, and if possible - we have managed this several times smile This club does not even allow the request for any sort of a pitch let alone a couple together.  VERY MISLEADING

Maybe someone could report my post and we could have an official comment about these matters it on this thread?

You most certainly couldn't.

I wonder what the ASA would have to say about it?

It's just the FB fantasy that creates the impression that this is possible. The reality is you'll be told to arrive at a site at the same time as your friends but you are not guaranteed a pitch together. Much more fun to traipse round the site with your BBQ stuff. laughing

Why not pitch together.   Here is how it is done.

Get a couple of those "Motor Caravan using this Pitch" signs and go for a wander round to select your pitch.   Stick the signs on the ones you want, bring your outfit to one of them and text your mate the pitch number for the other one.

Setthorns site in the New Forrest has no lighting at all ,and it's great to try and work out the star constellations
